I picked up this message at another nats message board...
Hello Nats Fans,
A quick reminder: Our next meeting is this Saturday, May 20th at 2 PM at the Irish Channel Restaurant. Our guest will be the Washington Post's Nationals beat writer, Barry Svrluga. Barry will be talking about his experiences covering the team, and about his new book, "National Pastime: Sports, Politics, and the Return of Baseball to Washington, D.C." Bring your copies of the book; Barry will be happy to sign them! (Unfortunately, we won't be able to supply copies of the book for purchase at the meeting.)
Saturday, May 20, 2006 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Irish Channel Restaurant 500 H Street Northwest Washington, DC 20001 (in Red Roof Inn, corner of 5th and H Streets, one block from the Gallery Place Metro stop)
In addition, I'll have a couple cool items to give away for anyone who shows up. You won't want to miss this!
Other items of interest:
- I'm collecting money for the trip to Baltimore on Saturday, June 24th for the Orioles-Nats game! The cost will be $50 per person, and includes the seat (in Section 84, which is in the lower deck in left field) and transportation by bus to and from. Please make your checks payable to "The Nats Fan Club" and mail them to:
Nats Fan Club Attn: Baltimore Trip 12012 Greywing Sq. #A3 Reston, VA 20191
Due to demand, I'll need to limit you to no more than four seats per order. The bus will probably be picking up at Springfield Mall and somewhere in Maryland(possibly Laurel). If you'd be interested in the tickets, but would rather drive yourself, e-mail me and I'll try to accommodate you.
I need to get the money for this trip in by TUESDAY, MAY 30TH, so get those checks in soon!
- Our first official Fan Club Tailgate of the season will also be taking place on Saturday, starting around 4 PM or so (you should be able to head out of our meeting and right on over to the tailgate). Official Fan Club grillmaster and tailgate expert Monty Seidler promises that there will be food, drink, and good times for everyone! Monty will be in Lot 8, probably near the overpass. Come on out and have a good time with your fellow Fan Club members!
Hope to see you Saturday!
Cheers, Colin Mills President, Nats Fan Club natsfans@yahoo.com www.natsfanatics.com
