I traveled 600 miles to watch this team in person earlier in he season. What i saw lokked very "UN-Majior League"  With a new stadium, the club has missed a great chance to build it's fan base. All they had to do is produce a competative team. They did not. Most but the truly diehard have forgotten about baseball for another season. It's baseball as usual in DC.

hey lets remember that the "Nats" havent had many top prospects cause when the expos were still in Montreal they had to get rid of many great players such as Guerrero and when they went to Washington they didnt have the players that they needed.  Now this season they are slowly developing but getting better. :)

despite being a phillies fan, i always hope the nationals can end their pattern of misery.  i have family in the dc area, so i've always been a little partial to the orioles, and now don't mind seeing the nats win.  however, the nationals are an absolute mess.  i've been to several nationals/phillies games at citizens bank park, and they play like a AA team.  they are horribly mismanaged, and it's truly a disservice to the DC area fans.i can relate to tough times, because in the early 2000s, the phillies were absolutely pathetic.  but once they began to build, they became more consistent contenders, eventually capping it in a world series win.  the nats lack pitching, fielding, hitting, and direction.  there was a game earlier this season when the nats and phils played one another in dc, and the first baseman simply moved out of the way when the ball was thrown to him!  i believe dc should have a team because it is one of the major metro areas in the us, but come on.  the ownership is not even close to bringing this team a near .500 record.  as a phillies fan, it makes me happy because we can get at least 14 wins out of the 18 games we play annually against the nats.  as a baseball fan, it saddens me that any team can be just that bad.
